Upcoming Week in my Filofax Original Yellow Personal Size and Kikki.K Large Time Planner

I am so excited about the upcoming week as I am going on holidays with my husband for three weeks. We are visiting family and friends after seven long years. I just cannot wait to see my little six year old niece. The past few weeks have been quite busy and very exciting at the same time. I decided to use my Filofax Original Yellow Personal Size to carry around while the A5 sizes are synched and stay home. Here are a few photos of both my planners.

Birds Inspired- Filofax Original Yellow Personal Size

Initially, I didn't like this deep yellow organiser very much. But I have started loving this!
The Yellow is quite dark for my liking but, I like it now.

The quote here is inspired by an Airplane. I always think it is one of the best inventions ever!

These cute, colourful, chirpy birds are just an expression of my excitement!
And the little bit of Malay language that you see is because of my love for the language. I would love to speak Malay very fluently one day :) and this is the beginning I guess !

For a change, I chose to stay away from Pink in these pages.
So, I went ahead with Blue, Orange  and Yellow.

Sanrio characters; Little Twin Stars inspired - Kikki-K Large Time Planner

I love these two cute characters from Sanrio.
I think you can never go wrong with Pastels. They always look pretty!

Lotus and Frog inspired upcoming week in my Filofax Apex Personal Green and Filofax A5 Chameleon Black

Lotus is my favourite flower! I just love the way it looks; the gorgeous flower itself, the beautifully shaped leaves and  the buds. I also I admire it's unique nature of floating on water and blossoming in a muddy pond. This unique characteristic (blooming beautifully even in the muddy pond water) is purely the reason why The Lotus flower tops the list of flowers offered to God in the Hindu religion. I have always been amazed at this divine flower that God has created! Lotus is found in many ponds in India and probably that is why it is the national flower of India. Born in a Indian Hindu Brahmin family, I have seen my parents offer this beautiful flower to God while worshipping. Since I was a little girl, I used to admire the beautiful lotus buds that my father used to bring home for festive season worship as offering to God. I still remember the lovely drawings of the Lotus flower that my mother used to draw; she still does I believe :)

So this upcoming week, I am using my Filofax Apex Personal Green and Filofax A5 Chameleon Black; both decorated using the Lotus and Frog theme. I absolutely love the Filofax Chameleon planner. This was my first Filofax. I own quite a few now.  But this Chameleon was, still is and will always remain my favourite! It is a beautifully designed leather Filofax planner. I really fail to understand the reason why it has been discontinued. As for the non-leather Filofax Apex in Green and Pink, I bought this one solely because of the colour, that once again reminds me of the Lotus Flower.

 Here are a few photos

I made all the paper clips that you see in all these pictures.
My first ever attempt at Felt Crafting. I quite like the way they turned out.

A pond full of beautiful lotus blossoms cannot be complete without frogs. So, I added these cute little frogs :)

Indian Festival Dussehra Inspired Week in my A5 Filofax Original Pink Fluoro

This time of the year, I miss being around family and friends in India. The festive season, the colours, the lights, the festive gatherings, the market stalls, the yummy food and the positive vibes all around is what I miss. So I decided to decorate the upcoming week in a colourful Indian Hindu Festival inspired look - Dussehra (Dus-seh-raa) in my Filofax A5 Original Pink Fluoro. This is my favourite festival out of all the numerous Hindu festivals celebrated in India.

A little bit about Dussehra

The name Dussehra is derived from Sanskrit language 'Dasha-hara' that literally means -
'removal of ten' ; referring to the Hindu God Rama's victory over the ten-headed demon king Raavan of Lanka. This day also marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the Demon Mahishasur. This festival is celebrated for ten long days and on the tenth day an effigy of Raavan is burnt marking his end.

So here are a few photos of my decoration and my illustrations

I always loved the Indian art of Henna and motifs. The tiny Paisley, bird and leaf illustrations are inspired by Henna and motif art that I love doing all the time.

Review of the Polka Dot Planner from TYPO

I purchased this cute planner from TYPO last weekend. I was lucky enough that everything was 30% off in store for that day only. Obviously, I happily grabbed the opportunity and bought a few things.

Here is my review of this cute non-leather planner.

Starting with the pricing, it is such an inexpensive planner; priced at AUD 19.95 plus I received a 30% off. It is so girlie! This planner comes only in one size. There is another planner in their collection that is a Sparkly Pink one. It is more like a Barbie Pink and suitable for young girls. I bought that sparkly one for my little niece.

The Exterior is made out of pastel polka dotted fabric and has a protective plastic film sort of lining on top of the fabric. The clasp is magnetised that makes it convenient to use.

Interior is made out of a synthetic material in a beautiful shade of pink. There are five beautiful printed tab dividers. Although I have to say that these are pretty flimsy. Laminating the dividers maybe a good idea if you would like to use these dividers or they are definitely not going to last. The sleek and stylish ballpoint pen that you see here comes with the planner and writes really well.

The inside of the front cover has 4 card slots, an ID card slot and one full length pocket.

The inserts are really neat and clean in terms of design. The font used is so simple that it is easy on the eyes. The paper is somewhat creamy in colour, which I think looks great with pastels. Stark white is a big no no! Also the Filofax Personal Size inserts fit perfectly in this planner.

Do you see the perforated ends? I think they are a cool way to bookmark pages.

The inside of the back cover has two full length pockets. This would be great to slide in some receipts and coupons or even stickers.

Overall I think it is a really well designed and finished planner at a very affordable price. It looks cute, feels good and I think it is also a low maintenance planner that you could easily wipe clean if it gets dirty.

So here is a quick summary of my likes and dislikes in this planner:

Likes
  • Affordable
  • Looks cute and pretty
  • Good finishing
  • Easy Maintenance
  • Well designed planner
  • Well designed inserts
  • Fits the Filofax personal size refills
  • Magnetised Clasp
Dislikes
  • The flimsy tab dividers

So you see there are hardly any negatives about this planner. If you are looking for an everyday planner that is cute, pretty, easy on your wallet and does the job well, then I would definitely recommend this cutie.

Hope this review has been helpful.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Have a wonderful day!!
