Kikki-K Planner :: Ballerina Girls Inspired

This week I am using my Kikki-K Mint and Gold Polka Dot Planner in the Large size. My birthday happens to be this week and I was thinking of a theme that I absolutely love. I wanted to make this week's pages special for obvious reasons and decided to go ahead with the Ballerina Girls theme. I knew that I wanted to do this theme for my birthday week. But there was a problem. I had no stickers, no paperclips to match the cute Ballerina Girls theme. So I decided to find the solution to my problem, be a little creative and make my own cute stationery from the supplies I had. I came up with a DIY Bookmark (Click here to see How-To Tutorial) and also made some Paper Clips. I punched some pattern paper and sticky notes using a floral punch that I bought from DAISO. I still thought there was something missing....The Stickers. Well I didn't have any Ballerina Girls stickers. Therefore I went ahead illustrated the Ballerina Girls on my Planner pages. I love illustrating!
And that beautiful quote by George Burns on that page- it is there specially for my birthday ;)

Here are some photos.

DIY : : How To Make Your Own Bookmark

A few weeks ago, I purchased some times from Yozocraft online. Most of those items were from the Ballerina Girls collection. I adore the cute girls. I simply loved every item that I had purchased and for that matter, I even loved the price tags. The tags were too cute to be thrown away into the rubbish bin. I started thinking of ways to use those cute little tags. Suddenly an awesome idea sparked up. So here are a few photos and DIY instructions of what I made.

BALLERINA GIRLS BOOKMARK FOR MY A5 SIZE PLANNER/s

Supplies ::

:: The Cute Price Tags
:: Card stock at least A4 size to match the colours of the tag ( I used pink card stock 12' X12")
:: Ruler
:: Cutting Knife
:: Pen or Pencil
:: Craft Mat
:: Scissors
:: A Punch (any shape that you like). I used a floral shaped one from DAISO
:: Glue stick
:: Hole Punch
:: Washi Tape/s of your choice ( I used only one)
:: Some embellishment of your choice ( I chose Pearls)

Have all your supplies ready before starting your DIY project.

I had five tags that I definitely did not want to throw away.
Don't you think they are cute?

      How To ::
  • Trim away the unwanted section in all the tags leaving just the illustrated part for use
  • Cut the card stock to size 7.5cm W X 24 cm H
  • Try playing with the placement of the tags on the card stock before gluing them on
  • Stick the tags on the card stock using craft glue in the order that you like
  • Stick Washi Tape on either sides (vertically) of the bookmark
  • Round the corners of the Bookmark
  • Embellish the bookmark. I chose pearls; I love pink colour paper and white pearls together
  • Create a punch on the very top of the bookmark using a punch of your choice
  • Punch holes in the bookmark to fit in your A5 Planner

This is how my bookmark looks. I love it.

Let me know if you re-created one of these.

And if possible, please leave a link to your creation in the comments.

Have a wonderful day!

Filofax Chameleon A5 Black :: Hello Kitty Inspired

It's raining continuously here in Sydney and I would say it is indeed the perfect time to decorate my planner pages and post blog. I am using my Filofax Chameleon A5 Black this week.

My inspiration and a little story behind it

I am sure I don't need to introduce you to this cute and extremely popular character by SANRIO ; the one and only "Hello Kitty". To be honest, I am not a big fan of Hello Kitty products.  I don't particularly like the Pink Hello Kitty stuff. But I just adore this Hello Kitty Voyage collection by Michael's Arts & Crafts in the U.S.

I went crazy when I saw a picture of this collection posted on a blog (cannot remember the name) back in May 2013 I believe. The Navy Blue and Red colour combination in that Voyage Sailor Theme caught my eye. I so desperately wanted to purchase the items from the collection but had absolutely no way I could get it as Michael's didn't ship internationally. I knew no one in the U.S at that time who could understand my craziness and buy the items for me. I was so disappointed and had pretty much accepted that I could not get any of these products.

Then one day my brother told me that he was visiting his friend in the U.S, and he asked me if I wanted something from the U.S. Did I hear it right? Yes I did! Of course I wanted something. And that something was from Michael's. I didn't wait too long and gave him a list; a very detailed list of the items. For obvious reasons, I was super excited. But that excitement did not last too long. Just two days after my brother reached the U.S., I looked up Michael's website and found that the Hello Kitty items were  no longer listed on the website. What??.... I really felt like crying. Once again I accepted the fact that I will not get the Hello Kitty stuff. Meanwhile my brother was busy at  his friend's wedding and was not contactable.

It was a couple of weeks before he returned to Sydney and I was obviously not expecting any items from Michael's to travel to Sydney along with my brother. Well No, I was wrong!! My brother called me and said that he got quite a few items for me from Michael's. I could not believe what I heard until he handed over the awesomeness to me. He picked up more than what I had asked for. He also mentioned that the Hello Kitty rack was almost empty when he went to Michael's. I cannot thank my brother enough for taking out time and getting the cute stuff for me.

Today I used a few items from that Hello Kitty Stash and here are some photos :)

Filofax Original A5 Fluoro Pink :: Winter Olympics Matryoshka Doll Inspired

Hello everyone! Hope you all have been doing well. I am sorry for not posting anything last week. I have been trying to make some changes to my daily routine and have been trying to adjust to those changes. I am trying to follow a strict time-table each day so that I can be on top of things rather than falling behind with everything and then catching up on everything at once. I am no where close to being perfect at this point. However, I am making a slow but steady progress each day. I realise that I work better when I have a time-table to follow. I hope to do a blogpost on "How I manage my day" in the near future. Let me know if you would be interested in reading.

This week I have used the "Matryoshka Dolls" as my inspiration to decorate the pages in my A5 Fluoro Pink Filofax. I love the Matryoshka Dolls. Matryoshka dolls are Russian dolls often confused with Babushka Dolls. Babushka dolls are not the same as Matryoshka Dolls. Babushka dolls are  supposed to be "Grandmother Dolls" :).  I have been wanting to use the Matryoshka Doll deco theme for months now but I kept pushing it. I really don't know why. Maybe, I was waiting for the perfect time - like now; the winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. So here are a few photos.
